Former Aberdeen midfielder Lewis Ferguson added to his Serie A goal tally this weekend as the Scotsman continues to impress for Italian side Bologna.

The 23-year-old headed home an 11th minute equaliser goal to make it 1-1 during a 2-2 draw against Salernitana, rising from the centre of the box to score.

Ferguson later had a right-footed shot blocked toward the end of the game as Bologna pushed for an elusive winner.

The effort means Ferguson, who is currently being tracked by the likes of Milan and Juventus, has netted four times in 21 league appearances so far this season.

The Scotland international joined Bologna last Summer following four years at Pittodrie after fellow Scot Aaron Hickey was sold by the Italians to English side Brentford for £20million.

Former AC Milan striker Mark Hateley says Ferguson will become a "complete player" due to his experiences in Italy.

Speaking to Grosvenor Sport, Hateley said: "I have spoken to Lewis Ferguson and he told me he's absolutely loving it – especially the training and learning things in a different way.

"I know that from my own experience. When I went to Milan I was coached from day one on how to be a number nine and Lewis is getting a similar benefit for his position, because of the European way of playing football.

Bologna currently sit 10th in the Serie A table, with Ferguson likely to feature in their upcoming match against eighth-placed Udinese.
